AS Foundation Portfolio Evaluation

The evaluation is an important part of the Foundation Portfolio. You must evaluate and reflect upon the creative process electronically using your blog.

In the evaluation the following seven questions must be answered:

1.    In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

2.    How does your media product represent particular social groups?

3.    What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

4.    Who would be the audience for your media product?

5.    How did you attract/address your audience?

6.    What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

7.    Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

The deadline for the evaluation is 3rd May 2011

AS Media Studies - Contents Page

Music Magazine - Contents Page

You will need to research and plan the contents page of your music magazine over half term.

Post at least 2 examples of real contents pages from music magazines onto your blog and analyse them. You should also create a rough draft of the layout for your own contents page.

You should then plan the photographs that you will need for the page. Try to include at least 3 original images on the page.

Use a variety of different images in order to show a range of the content within your magazine.

The deadline for planning your contents page is 3rd March 2011.

AS Music Magazine Double Page Spread

Deadline for Music Magazine Double Page Spread is Thursday 17th February 2011.

You need to have posted your double page spread on your blog by Friday 18th February 2011.

Remember, the 18th of February 2011 is an INSET day.
